Bon Appétit! Epicurean delights descend onto the Helderberg when landmark restaurant 96 Winery Road toasts a decade of culinary excellence with a delectable menu of unique birthday celebrations from 19 to 21 May.
All three Executive Chefs, Kathy Romer-Lee, Natasha Wray and Craig Backhouse, who’ve been working their magic from the 96 kitchen over the past decade will pull out all the stops to create an unsurpassed evening of refined cuisine on Friday, 19 May.
Each course will be matched with boutique Forrester and Meinert wines.
Tap into the scrumptious secrets of the suppliers of 96 Winery Road and bring the whole family for a leisurely stroll through the 96 Winery Road Day Market on Saturday, 20 May.
From the finest cheeses, divine mushrooms, deli meats and organic fresh produce, it is your opportunity to shop where top restaurants shop.
Succulent oysters, foie gras and quail eggs will whet your appetite whilst wines from Ken Forrester, Martin Meinert, The Winery and Waterford will flaunt their bouquets.
Fresh, pickled or in a pot ... This family affair sees the flocking of food and wine loving folk, indulging in a feast of wholesome goodness.
Special fun-filled entertainment including pony rides and face painting are on the kiddies menu of the day.
The 96 Winery Road restaurant will also be open but bookings are essential.
Then on Sunday, 21 May, soak up the last summer days and ease into the soulful lyrics of ever-popular SA band, Watershed, when the 96 Winery Road 10-Year Birthday Celebrations culminate with a relaxed Sunday picnic in the lush garden.
With the abundance of awe-inspiring creations from the restaurant kitchen you’ll be spoilt for culinary choice in your basket.
Remember to bring your own blanket. 96 Winery Road will supply all the food and wine in a nifty cooler bag for you to keep.
Cost for the event on Friday and Saturday is R300 per adult per day and Sunday is R235 per adult for the picnic.
