Woodwork workshop at Soetmelksvlei: Craft a traditional riempie camping chair

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a folding riempie camping chair using reclaimed wood from the Babylonstoren farm.

Limited to four participants due to the rarity of the wood, sourced from fallen trees on the farm. An opportunity like this comes along only when nature allows. Experience the scent and grain of wood in its most authentic form.

Held at the Workshop at Soetmelksvlei, a scenic working farmyard set in the late 1800s. The price includes farm entry, shuttle rides, refreshments, a hearty farm-style lunch, plus a beautifully crafted riempie camping chair to take home.

Meet us at the Babylonstoren ticket office at 08h15. The shuttle departs for Soetmelksvlei at 08h30.

A hearty lunch will be served in the Old Stables Restaurant before guests return to Babylonstoren.
