Make veg the centre of attention and give it some heat at this cooking workshop with Chef Schalk Vlok on 1 October 2026 at Babylonstoren.

Every action at Babylonstoren is guided by the ever-changing tapestry of our magnificent garden. With the arrival of spring, we celebrate a new season with an array of interesting veggies. These are elevated in true South African spirit with the addition of smoke and fire!

In this workshop presented by Schalk Vlok and Ailene de Villiers, we’ll kick off in the garden to harvest what’s in season before heading to the Old Bakery Restaurant to light the fires and explore ways to prepare veg over the coals.

Please meet us at the Farm Shop.

Steaming coffee from the Farm Shop is served upon arrival. Lunch at the Old Bakery is included.
