Join the carpentry workshop at the historic Soetmelksvlei and craft a wooden herb planter box for your kitchen table on 19 September 2026.

Join us for a hands-on woodwork workshop with Elric Dampies at Babylonstoren's historic Soetmelksvlei farmyard.

Discover the basic principles of working with wood as you craft a herb box for your kitchen table. Measure, saw, join and learn to do professional staining. Keep an eye on our garden gurus for inspiration on what to plant in your herb planter.

Age requirement: +16 years

Please meet at the Babylonstoren ticket office at 08h15 to set off for the workshop taking place from 08h30 to 15h00 at Soetmelksvlei.

Refreshments will be enjoyed during the workshop, followed by a hearty lunch in the Old Stables Restaurant before guests return to Babylonstoren.
