Learn about the cycling of nutrients in your garden through composting at Babylonstoren's Compost 101 workshop on 21 July 2026.

If you’re a soil person, then understanding the cycling of nutrients in your garden through composting is a must!

We dig dirt – every garden lover’s dream starts with this miraculous dark material. If you love soil as much as we do and you’re passionate to learn about regenerative soil efforts, this compost class is just the thing for you.

This hands-on workshop at Babylonstoren is led by our vegetable gardener, Morné Olivier, who will share all his secrets on how to make several types of compost by selecting different materials and ingredients. The aim of the class is to better understand different soils and where to apply the different types of compost between the annual and perennial plants in your garden. By the end of the day, you’ll better understand the use of compost as a tool to support the fertility of your soil and how carbon is cycled by nature.

Presented by Morné Olivier.
