Mushroom lovers and nature enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience a day dedicated to learning and foraging for wild mushrooms in the forests at Delheim Wine Estate in Stellenbosch with an expert guide.
Delheim’s mountain pine forests are home to over 20 species of wild mushrooms, and on Friday, 3rd, and Saturday, 4th of July, Delheim will be welcoming new and experienced mushroom foragers to get out and collect their mushrooms.
Note that we cannot guarantee the discovery of any specific mushrooms. For the forage, dress for possible chilly weather – a rain jacket and good walking/hiking boots or shoes. Bring a basket and a small pocketknife for collecting.
Programme of the Day
09h30 – 10h00: Arrival at Delheim Vat Cellar, Welcome drink and registration
10h00 - 11h30: Mushroom identification by Gary Goldman
11h30 - 12h00: Coffee break
12h00 - 13h30: Guided Mushroom Foraging Experience
Tickets for each event are R550 per person for all ages. Please note each event is limited to only 30 pax.
