Autumn is a particularly beautiful time on the estate. As the vineyards begin their slow transformation and the light softens across the Banghoek Valley, the gardens settle into a golden rhythm - inviting unhurried wandering and quiet appreciation.
It is at this halfway mark of the season that we once again open our private farm garden for our annual Rare Plant Fair & Autumn Open Garden on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
Spend the day exploring at your own pace, following meandering pathways through secluded garden rooms, past thoughtfully placed sculptures and expansive valley views.
Specialist growers will join us with a carefully curated selection of indigenous fynbos, proteas and unusual specimens ideal for autumn planting - a highlight for collectors and home gardeners alike.
We encourage you to pause in the Adamastor Moss Garden, created by Japanese garden specialist Gert van Tonder, where sandstone, granite and moss come together in serene harmony. Guided tours will be offered on a first-come basis.
Make a day of it by enjoying refreshments on the estate or pre-booking one of our Tokara Delicatessen picnic hampers to collect from the Boathouse and enjoy on the lawn.
Our Restaurant, Tasting Lounge and Delicatessen will be open as usual, and reservations are recommended.
Entry is R60 per person (children under 10 free), payable at the gate, with proceeds supporting Camphill Farm Community in Hermanus.
