On Christmas Eve, 24 December 2025, the historic Paarl estate invites families and friends to gather for a festive Christmas Lunch and Dinner designed to capture the essence of shared joy - good food, fine wine, and the company of those you love.
The celebration begins with an elegant Amuse Bouche: a mini roast beetroot and whipped feta tarte, perfectly paired with a complimentary glass of Nederburg Grenache/Carignan Rosé.
The Starters, served family-style, invite guests to linger and connect over generous platters of homemade goodness. A bread board overflowing with crostini, lavash, marinated olives, chutney, onion marmalade, and flavoured whipped butter creates a rustic prelude to a festive feast. Alongside, smoked salmon carpaccio brings a touch of elegance — thinly sliced and layered with caper berries, pickled cucumber, fennel, lemon crème fraîche, and toasted ciabatta. It’s a symphony of textures and flavours that showcases the culinary finesse of Nederburg’s kitchen.
For the Mains, the spirit of Christmas is served with abundance. Each dish arrives at the table family-style — meant to be passed, shared, and enjoyed together. A slow-cooked leg of lamb, infused with garlic, rosemary, and Nederburg red wine, delivers tender, comforting flavours that pair beautifully with minted pea purée, confit tomatoes, and roasted baby potatoes. Alongside, a honey-glazed gammon with pineapple and wholegrain mustard sauce brings the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, complemented by candied sweet potato fondant and baby vegetables. For those who prefer seafood, the pan-seared line fish with lemon butter and capers shines bright — served with mint and pea couscous, grilled greens, and a tarragon beurre blanc that’s pure indulgence.
And then, dessert — the irresistible highlight of any Christmas table. Guests can choose between two decadent creations. The Amarula Christmas Trifle layers vanilla sponge, custard, mixed berries, and whipped Amarula cream, topped with toasted almonds and shaved chocolate for a nostalgic South African twist. Alternatively, the Peppermint Crisp and Chocolate Yule Log offers a show-stopping finale: rich chocolate sponge rolled with peppermint mousse, topped with dark chocolate ganache and crisp shards.
The entire experience — from amuse bouche to dessert — is R915 per person, including a small festive gift and gratuity. Children are warmly welcome at R400 per child, making this a true family celebration.
Adding to the magic, Santa himself will make an appearance, spreading cheer and joy among guests. Families are invited to arrange for delivery of personalised, wrapped gifts to be handed out by Santa during lunch or dinner — a charming touch that promises to make memories that last a lifetime.
With its scenic vineyards, warm atmosphere, and world-class food and wine, Nederburg’s Christmas celebration is the perfect way to mark the season in style.
