The movie
The Notebook is a romantic drama film based on the 1996 novel of the same name. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love in the 1940s. Their story is read from a notebook in the present day by an elderly man (James Garner), telling the tale to a fellow nursing home resident (Gena Rowlands).

Pack a warm jacket for the evening chill. If you think you might get uncomfortable during a longer movie, consider bringing a pillow. Our backrests are perfect for leaning against, but the cushion is not very thick, so extra support may be helpful. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic blanket for under your legs, as well as your own blanket if you prefer.
