Launched in 2020 by Dan Nicholl, the host and producer of South Africa’s leading online wine show, Dan Really Likes Wine (DRLW), this event has become a cornerstone for rare wine lovers and those looking to support meaningful causes.
This year, the DRLW auction presents an exceptional lineup of rare wines and curated experiences, with all proceeds benefiting Reach for a Dream, the Cape Winemakers Guild, and The Nicholl Foundation.
Featured auction items include a bottle of 1969 Lanzerac Pinotage, a selection of premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Burgundy courtesy of Great Domaines, and an indulgent two-night stay at Taaibosch with a vertical tasting and a case of the estate’s maiden 2018 Crescendo vintage. Collectors will also find a 12-bottle multi-vintage vertical case of the award-winning Vilafonté Series M and a limited-edition magnum of De Klerk Signature Wines – a Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot blend crafted by Historic Wines.
Founded in 2016, DRLW has grown into South Africa’s premier digital wine broadcast, drawing an engaged local and international following. Known for his entertaining style and deep wine knowledge, Nicholl has crafted an event that blends the thrill of wine collecting with the joy of giving back.
