Usually at least 100 in number, tasting wines are all silver, gold or trophy medal winners which have excelled in the The Trophy Wine Show judging.
Presented in an informal showcase environment by either the winemakers or their marketing ambassadors, the wines are selected from a line-up of around 1 000 wine entries judged 'blind' by a panel of judges chaired by South Africa’s wine authority Michael Fridjhon (all judges are esteemed international and local wine personalities).
Details of all award winners and the ultimate accolade, the Most Successful Producer, will be available on www.trophywineshow.co.za from 8 June. Trophy winning wines at the public tasting will include Best Red, Best White, Discovery of the Show (Best Value) and the International Judges’ Trophy award.
