2023 EDITION: SPECIAL FOCUS ON CAMPANIA REGION
This year will offer a special focus on products from the beautiful CAMPANIA region, which includes Naples, Pompeii, the stunning Amalfi Coast and the islands of Capri and Ischia.
GUEST PRODUCER: FEUDI DI SAN GREGORIO
Benchmark Campanian wine producer Feudi Di San Gregorio from Irpinia near the slopes of the extinct volcano Mt. Vesuvius, will be represented by export manager Francesca Festa who will be presenting several wine workshops. Participants can learn about their famous Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Aglianico and Taurasi wines.
AUTHENTIC WOOD-FIRED NAPOLETANA PIZZA AND REGIONAL PASTA DISHES
Idiom is collaborating with Gambero Rosso award-winning chef Enrico di Giambattista from PIZZA CONNECTION in Woodstock who will be showcasing and making authentic wood-fired ‘pizza Napoletana’ for the whole weekend. Masterchef Claudio Uccello from Naples, via FUMO restaurant in Pretoria, will be the guest chef at the festival and will be preparing special plates from Campania and hosting show-cooking sessions.
LIMONCELLO DELIGHT
And don’t forget to try the brilliant Limoncello liqueur from Campania’s Ancient Distillery PETRONE – either neat or as a spritz – to help with digestion after all these tastes.
SPECIAL ACCESS: TASTES OF CAMPANIA APERITIVO EVENING
Last, but not least, and not to be missed one of the highlights of the festival will be the special sunset Tastes Of Campania Aperitivo Evening on Sat 4th 18h00-20h00, where the outgoing Italian Consul in Cape Town, Emanuele Pollio, who also hails from Sorrento, will be telling us about the region’s cultural and historic secrets.
Neapolitan songs will be performed by Italian performer Francesca Biancoli. Feudi di San Gregorio wines will be served accompanied by delicious tastes of the Amalfi coast prepared by Fumo’s Claudio Uccello. (An extra ticket is required to attend the Aperitivo Evening).
