The CVC is a South African association that champions wines that best express site, quality and consistency among top producer members. Vergelegen, 322 years old this year, is renowned for its history, culture, architecture, sustainability and 18 spectacular gardens and is a proud member of the CVC.
Summer Soirée participants include Vergelegen, Almenkerk, Diemersdal, DeMorgenzon, Kanonkop, Morgenster, Rupert Wines and more. There will also be a dedicated CVC table, where guests can expect older vintages and limited wines for tasting generally not available to the public. This is a fantastic opportunity to taste and appreciate special wines from renowned producers.
The cost is R295/person, which includes a welcome glass of chilled Vergelegen wine, unlimited tastings of both current and older vintages from CVC members, and a delicious cheese and charcuterie board.
Guests can meet the winemakers and owners, enjoy live jazz and stroll in the splendid Vergelegen gardens. Summer horticultural highlights include a formal rose garden,the walled Octagonal Garden and the East Garden, which currently has 14000 agapanthus plants in bloom.
Guests can also book for dinner at Vergelegen’s bistro-style Stables Restaurant, or the River Café, a popular pop-up in a glass marquee on the banks of the Lourens River.
