Every February, the South African wine industry honours this momentous occasion, and we call on all South Africans, wine makers and wine lovers alike, to join a special virtual Wine Harvest Commemorative Event.
The event traditionally took place at South Africa’s oldest wine-producing farm, Groot Constantia, which was established in 1685 by the then Governor, Simon van der Stel.
The event is open to all and involves three aspects, namely the Blessing of the Harvest, the commemoration of the wine industry’s 363rd year of existence, and the honouring of role players.
In 2022, industry pioneers who’ve made significant contributions to the industry will be honoured in four categories, namely Visionary Leadership; Diversity and Transformation; Wine Appreciation and Wine Advancement; and Viticulture and Wine Creation.
The event takes place on Wednesday, 2 February 2022 at 19:00 on the website www.sawineharvest.co.za and is open to all.
Register today to receive a reminder on the day!
Financial support and partnerships for the event are from Groot Constantia Estate, Die Burger, Standard Bank, Vinpro and wine.co.za.
