During the upcoming weekend of 26 to 28 November 2021, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat and Bouchard Finlayson Vineyards will unite to present an inspired food and wine weekend hosted by the estate’s winemaker Chris Albecht and anchored by a glorious African setting deep within the Cederberg Mountains.

Guests can expect exceptional wining and dining experiences that showcase the very best Bouchard Finlayson wines alongside the finest seasonal produce from the kitchen gardens and the indigenous fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom.

The weekend will commence with an informal wine pairing with canapés at the Homestead, hosted by Chris, followed by a carefully curated tasting menu created by Executive Chef Wilhelm Maree, paired with Bouchard Finlayson wines.

The weekend celebrates destination dining at its finest, combined with the great outdoors, all showcased in an unbeatable location. Aside from the gastronomic lure, those who have secured their three days of sanctuary in the Cederberg will also be treated to a number of excursions. From sumptuous High Teas to nature drives across the plains, viewing rock art and enjoying sundowners at spectacular look-out points, it promises to be a culinary adventure of a lifetime.

The Bushmans Kloof Food & Wine Weekend is priced at R16,080 per night (including taxes and reserve fees) for two persons sharing. Bushmans Kloof offers fourteen spacious rooms, two suites and two villas, individually and exquisitely decorated with handpicked art, décor, antiques and heritage furniture. For those wishing to be pampered even further, the lodge’s spa is a tranquil space where nurturing therapists offer bespoke treatments inspired by age-old African traditions alongside signature B|Africa and Tata Harper products that draw on native plant extracts such as baobab tree oil, mafura butter, rooibos and cape aloe. For guests who wish to indulge in some retail therapy, a visit to the Trading Post is a must for a splurge on some of South Africa’s finest and most unusual jewellery and arts and crafts.

Aside from hearty appetites, guests should remember to bring binoculars, warm clothing, hats, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes and a camera.
