#tastesunshine - 24th Sept - taste the sunshine in our wines

TIME:    All Day
VENUE:    Wherever you are

Invite some friends, light the fire, and share some lekker South African Wines on Braai Day - Thursday 24th September and #tastesunshine

The 24th Sept is South African Heritage day, aka Braai Day, and wine.co.za invites you to join us in celebrating by opening some wonderful South African wines and sharing them, wherever you are.

There is a beautiful word we use in South Africa ; ‘kuier’, pronounced ''cay-er"'.

The quick translation is to stay, but it goes a lot further than that. It’s sharing a bottle of wine with friends while snuggled around a warm fire in winter, it’s opening a crisp Chenin on the rocks with a few fresh crayfish after a dive with your buddies, it’s a full bodied Shiraz around a braai with your family on a warm summers night.

It’s warmth, it’s hospitality, it’s friends. It’s good wine, good food and good company.

South Africans love to invite visitors into our homes, it is what we do. We throw some meat on the braai (barbeque), toss some salads into a bowl and then we sit around chatting for as long as possible. We kuier. A global pandemic might have changed things a bit for us this year as we can't host a big kuier with all our friends and family, but kuier we will - even if it means doing so virtually.

We are asking every South African around the world to to join us on our Heritage Day, 24 September and open up a bottle of South African wine, share some of our sunshine, and come kuier with us.

wine.co.za is encouraging every South African Winery, every South African embassy, every South African business, and every South African around the globe to show the world just how lekker our wine is.

It is really simple, just open up a bottle, share it with your friends, if possible, and then be sure to post pics of your day on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook using #tastesunshine
