The iconic President Hotel has relaunched its Unwined & Dine series for 2019 with a presidential pairing bringing together the best of the Cape’s wine estates and delicious, seasonal dishes from the hotel’s acclaimed Executive Chef.

Set in sought-after Bantry Bay and surrounded by breathtaking sea views, guests can enjoy a sunset glass of bubbles, meet the winemakers, enjoy an unforgettable ambience and experience an unforgettable culinary evening with friends and family, all for R450 per person.

From 19:00 on 28 February, Eddie Turner of Meerlust Wine Estate will present the evening’s wine pairings enhanced by the President’s locally sourced, inspired and farm-to-table menu.

Starting off the culinary journey will be a sustainable kingklip ceviche and tempura oyster paired with the crisp Isliedh Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon from Cape Point Vineyards, followed by a prawn and bamboo risotto accompanied by a glass of the Meerlust Chardonnay.

Thereafter, Cape Point Vineyards will harmonise a cherry tomato granite and basil chip sorbet with their Noordhoek Sauvignon Blanc as a palate cleanser.

Seeking inspiration from the land, guests can tuck into the main course of a springbok primavera with fondant potatoes artfully served with the robust Meertlust Rubicon, and to finish with something sweet, a glass of Meerlust Pinot Noir will complete a summer berry cheesecake with pistachio crust and peach gel.
