In celebration of the release of our own Madiba, Nelson Mandela from the Victor Verster prison 16 years ago, Freedom Hill Restaurant, Franschhoek, will host a colourful festival on 26 and 27 April 2011.
The Freedom Hill Festival will be a feast of dishes devised by master chef Adrian Buchanan, served with wines from neighboring wineries; along with a farmers market and a live band.

On Tuesday 26 April you can join us for an interactive music of traditional food and live local music. Or join us for a lazy lunch and picnic on Wednesday 27 April - choose from a delicious selection of tapas-style spread and crisp wines from local vineyards.

The highlight of the festival - the gala black tie event - will feature gourmet dining on fusion-style foods, soul-moving singing by a local artist, the pulsing beat of African drums; and, to lighten the mood, a local stand-up laugh-til-you-cry comedian’s perspective on all that Freedom Day represents.
