Renowned travel writer Dana Snyman traces his own family’s story as he explores the backwoods of South Africa and what it means to be "from here" (hiervandaan) in his latest book Hiervandaan.
He starts this deeply South African story with the first Snyman, born of a white father and a slave mother right here on Solms-Delta. Along the way he visits Julius Malema and Jacob Zuma’s hometowns.

Meet this well-known author on Saturday 25 August between 11.30am & 3pm. Enjoy a welcoming glass of Solms-Astor Cape Jazz Shiraz and listen to the Soetstemme choir while we settle in for an introduction and discussion about the book, followed by a ‘traditional Cape lunch buffet’ and book signing.
