Following two sold-out events held in June and July, the third The Bookshelf Event at Ken Forrester Wines will feature literary commentator Jonathan Amid in conversation with acclaimed authors Tom Eaton and Tanya Meeson. Tom is a novelist and regular columnist, while Tanya is both a speculative fiction writer and editor.
While offering a deep dive into their respective latest works, Tom’s A Second Shot and Tanya’s The Witch of Benbar’s Cross, the pair will divulge tricks of the trade, talk us through what it’s like for two creatives to live under the same roof, and share their insights on writing and why reading remains essential in today’s fast-paced society. Why is humour essential to our survival? How can genre fiction help us to understand ourselves and the challenges of our age better? Is a world without books and intelligent readers the ultimate dystopia?
