Hands-on kids: Bake and ice your own farm animal biscuits at Soetmelksvlei

All aboard the Babylonstoren bus to Soetmelksvlei for a day of baking fun! In this hands-on workshop, we invite aspiring young chefs between the ages of six and twelve to bake some farm animal biscuits – and eat them too!

Following a short ride along the picturesque slopes of Simonsberg, we’ll descend towards the historical farmyard of Soetmelksvlei, which represents a time when life was simpler, and craftsmanship was treasured. Here, master baker Martjie Malan will guide young bakers to mix, roll, shape and bake their own vanilla butter biscuits. We’ll also make icing to decorate our quirky farm animal biscuits.

After the baking session, you are welcome to explore Soetmelksvlei and all its offerings to your heart’s content. A shuttle departs frequently from Soetmelksvlei to take you back to Babylonstoren when you're ready.

Note: Kids aged 6-12 must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum 2 children per adult.

Juice and a snack are included.
