Meet The Makers – Grub and Vine's dinner and wine series where you meet the men and women behind your favourite wines – is in full swing! We have the ovens going and the wine flowing! Join us for an evening of delectable food and wines from different wines farms. Get the chance to rub shoulders with the makers behind the wine, while they share ins and outs behind each bottle, their stories and what makes them unique.
Up next is Jordan Wine Estate on Thursday, 10 October 2024. Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the now 164-hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes. From the first year, it was obvious that a new star had been added to the winemaking firmament – with a focus on producing fiercely individual wines that combine the fruity accessibility of the New World with the classic elegance of the old.
General manager Jacques Steyn will take you on a journey through the heritage estate in Stellenbosch, blending old-world tradition with new-world innovation. Paired with a 5-course dinner, this is your chance to experience history in a glass, crafted with modern flair.
The cost is R695 per person and includes 5-course dinner with wines paired.
