Swartland Wine & Olive Route
Curro Barreño will travel from his home in The Sierra de Gredos (an area of rugged granite peaks, long growing seasons and hilltop towns southwest of Madrid) to share six wines from this region and we'll throw in two locals for good measure.
You'll taste
Two wines by 4 Monos* + three wines from Curro's label Viticola Mentridana + one wine by Comando G** + one by David & Nadia + one from AA Badenhorst Family Wines.
4 Monos is a project by Javier García, Laura Robles, David Moreno and David Velasco, four Madrileños - who believe that good wine is only made with good vines & thus cultivate vineyards at Cadalso de los Vidrios, in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos.
Comando G is a project by Daniel Landi and Fernando García - redefining Garnacha, previously viewed as a workhorse variety, into something that can rival the elegance and finesse of Burgundian Pinot Noir or Syrah in the northern Rhône.
Moderated & presented by Martijn Verkerk (Smaragd Wines, Netherlands), Curro Barreño, David Sadie & Adi Badenhorst.
