Cabernet Franc lovers are invited to Vrede en Lust in Franschhoek for the 6th Cabernet Franc Carnival taking place on Saturday 25 May.

This exclusive wine event has been taking place annually since 2017 (bar Covid-19) and is annually attended by fans of this exciting wine varietal.

Guests can look forward to tasting the wines on show while listening to the soothing sounds of Kruger & Tutu at this well-loved and classy event. The celebration will take place in the Vineyard Hall with the distinguished Simonsberg mountain providing the picture-perfect backdrop. 

To keep the hunger pangs at bay, LUST Bistro at Vrede en Lust will be offering an array of delectable meals and nibbles on the day, and guest will be able to redeem their R60 food voucher, included in the ticket price, at LUST. There are five dishes (Mushroom Ancini, Cajun Calamari, Roast Veg, Aged Fillet or Dark Chocolate Mousse) to choose from with the vouchers or these can be redeemed for the face value against the bill at the Lust Restaurant should patrons wish to have lunch there.

Some of the wineries participating at the Cab Franc Carnival on 25 May are Bellevue Wine Estate, Delaire Graff Estate, Glenelly Estate, Hermanuspietersfontein, Holden Manz, Journey’s End Vineyards, Le Pommier Wine Estate, Lynx Wine Estate, Mitre’s Edge, Morgenster Estate, Raats Family Wines, Rainbow’s End Estate, The Garajeest, Thor Vintners, Villiera, and Vrede en Lust.

Tickets are available through Quicket via and cost is R350 per person which includes entry to the Carnival, parking, a branded crystal wine glass, live music and a R60 food voucher.

A limited 450 tickets are available for this very popular and usually sold-out event, so Cabernet Franc lovers will need to make sure that they get their tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

In the event of inclement weather, seating will be moved into the Vineyard Hall on the estate and under a bedouin tent. Strictly no under 18s allowed.
