Visit the magical Blaauwklippen Valley for an unforgettable day with the wines and vintners of the three boutique wine farms, De Trafford, Keermont and Kleinood on Saturday 2 June 2018.

Once a year, the Upper Blauwklippen vintners join forces to allow limited access to SA’s best-kept-secret boutique wine tasting experience in the spellbinding Upper Blaauwklippen valley. Meet the vintners and owners of three boutique wine farms, De Trafford, Keermont and Kleinood, for a truly exclusive and personal tasting on Saturday 2 June 2018 from 11am until 4pm.

With its heady combination of valleys, mountain ranges, wine estates, crisp fresh air and fine wine, the Upper Blaauwklippen Valley, situated just off the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, is the perfect setting for wine lovers to explore and taste wines from all three stellar wine farms.

This annual highlight on the wine calendar offers a variety of personal tastings of newly released, handcrafted vintages, rare and coveted vinoteque wines by each wine farm including Tamboerskloof Viognier 2013, John Spicer Syrah 2012, Tamboerskloof Syrah 2006 and Tamboerskloof Syrah 2012 from Kleinood. Merlot 2005, first samplings of the upcoming Single Vineyard wines from Keermont and vertical tastings from the De Trafford Vinoteque, served with well-paired culinary treats. Chat to winemakers and owners of each boutique wine farm as they share the stories behind their terroir-driven wines and unique wineries.

“We look forward to welcoming wine lovers to our farms, getting to know our guests, offering an informative tasting of our fine wines and a more in-depth understanding of this prime Stellenbosch winemaking area, its philosophy and its people,” says David Trafford.

The five-kilometer trip up the valley leads along an elevation of 200 meters and allows guests to enjoy breathtaking views while meandering along the Blaauwklippen river. A regular shuttle service between the farms ensures that guests can relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery along the untouched slopes of the Upper Blaauwklippen valley.

“Stellenbosch is a large region and we need to celebrate its diversity,” says Roland Peens, Director of Wine Cellar – fine wine merchants, “it’s great to see the vintners of the Upper Blaauwklippen Valley standing together. Although all varieties seem to do well here, a vein of fine Syrah runs from Kleinood through Keermont and De Trafford at the top of the valley.”

In order to ensure a personal experience, only 100 tickets are available at R500 each. To take part in this premium tasting on Saturday 2 June from 11am to 4pm, book your tickets by sending an email to sales@keermont.co.za or calling Juanita at Keermont on 021 880 0397.
