Celebrate South Africa's homegrown grape at Spier's Pinotage-themed winemaker's dinner on 1 August in the Spier Manor House.

There’s something truly special about gathering around good food and wine – especially when it’s cold outside. Spier Wine Farm's 2025 Winemaker’s Dinner Series once again opens the doors to the beautifully restored Spier Manor for six intimate evenings with the people who walk the vineyards and work in the cellar vintage after vintage.

Limited to just 22 guests seated at one long table, each dinner focuses on a single grape variety showcased in all its versatile forms. Each varietal voyage is paired with a four-course meal drawing inspiration from the farm’s seasonal bounty, much of it sourced directly from our farm.

Join us for an evening celebrating South Africa’s homegrown grape as winemaker Heidi Dietstein and viticulturist Bennie Liebenberg share their passion for Pinotage. They’ll guide you through the remarkable journey of this distinctly South African variety – from the bright, coastal freshness of our Seaward to the intriguing complexity of Creative Block, culminating with our award-winning 21 Gables.

In the kitchen, we’re lighting the fires to prepare dishes that elevate each wine – tender springbok, succulent duck and charcoal-kissed meringue. It’s a quintessential South African evening that brings together our winemaking heritage, farm-fresh ingredients and the joy of cooking with fire.
