Gather the special women in your life and join us for one of our favourite annual traditions. The Women's Day Wine Walk combines beautiful vineyard trails, spectacular winter scenery, good company and, of course, Muratie wines
This is a fun social walk starting at 09h00 at Dirtopia Trail Centre at Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, where you’ll be treated to a mimosa on arrival.
The total hike loop is approximately 3.5km in total hiking trail with hand-built steps, where you get rewarded with a tasting of 4 of Muratie wines at the lookout. View of Simonsberg and Table Mountain in the distance, and the hike down is through the forest. Please note that you need a relative amount of fitness, as it is not a flat 'walk in the park'.
Wear good walking/hiking shoes. Bring a jacket, carry your own water and perhaps some snacks to enjoy on the mountain.
Schedule
09h00 – 09h25: Registration. You will receive an armband that will give you access to the route and wine tastings.
09h30: Start the walk at leisurely pace. A short briefing will take place before you follow the marked route.
09h30 until 10h30: Walk to the look-out at your own time for a Rose tasting and then follow the route down in the vineyard to the next red wine tasting spot.
11h00/12h00: Arrival back at Dirtopia Trail Centre.
Cost and tickets
R245 per Adult and Kids U18 are R100 and will receive one juice instead of wine. Includes a day permit for marked route and wine tasting on top of the mountain.
Booking online tickets is essential.
This is a relaxed event with lots of socialising, so that you can enjoy the winelands scenery of the Stellenbosch outdoors! Ensure you book by the Friday before the event.
The Trail Centre will be open early for snacks and cold drink sales. Please note that any drinks before, during or after the walk is for your own account.
