Join Durbanville Hills in a series of around the world wine and food pairing evenings, exploring the versatility of their award-winning red wines when paired with global cuisine. The winemaking team will alternate each evening on the Durbanville Hills Collector’s Reserve Merlot, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz and will share how these cool climate red wines reflect the unique terroir.

The location of Durbanville Hills’ cellar, a mere 20 minutes from Cape Town’s city centre, offers not only a spectacular view of Table Mountain and Table Bay, but also an extraordinary terroir with an almost endless variety of slopes, soil types and micro climates.

Although the area of Durbanville is among the coolest wine-growing areas in the Cape Winelands, Cape Town offers warm weather with plenty of sunshine allowing winemakers in and around the city to have more fun with red wines. The red wines crafted here benefit from the valley outskirts and opposing northern slopes which provide ideal warmer conditions for slow and proper ripening of the grapes and together with the cool maritime breezes and swirling mists, results in wines that truly reflect the unique location of Durbanville.

Come and explore these wines inspired by the vibrancy of Cape Town’s city life, the warm sunshine balanced by a cool climate on the following evenings:

4 April – Merlot paired with French cuisince
9 May – Pinotage paired with South African flavours
13 June – Cabernet Sauvignon paired with dishes from the USA
11 July – Shiraz paired with Greek traditional foods

The evening includes a tutored tasting and a three-course paired menu with each wine of the evening. Booking is essential and tickets cost R325 per person. For more information or to book please contact Kamo Malaza on mkmalaza@durbanvillehills.co.za or 021 558 1300
