The Top tasters from Cape Town and Joburg will go up against each other to compete in the Finals of the South African Wine Tasting Champs - at the Taj Hotel in Cape Town.
The 2018 finalists are:
Jolette Steyn, Lerato Moleleko, Heidi Kritzinger, Brian Nhlanhla Mahlangu, Tom Prior, Anita Streicher Nel, Nkululeko Mkhwanazi, Anton Swarts, Cyril Meidinger, Anusha Lalloo, Kevin Crause, Ralph Reynolds, Riana van der Merwe, Welma Smith, Pieter de Klerk.
A few potential candidates are on standby in case some finalists cannot make these finals
#TEAMSA2018 will emerge from this tough blind tasting - to wing their way to France in Oct - where they will participate in the World Blind Wine Tasting Champs, coached by the inimitable Jean Vincent Ridon.
The South African Wine Tasting Championship is a public event calling for all talents to test their abilities at tasting wines. Wine lovers will finally be the center of a wine event.
The SAWTC has two goals:
- Recognise and Award the Top Wine tasters in South Africa
- Select Team South Africa #TEAMSA2018 going to the World Blind Tasting Challenge
In the spirit of ongoing education, and in an attempt to encourage new converts into the closed circle that is the wine world, the SAWTC offers all wine lovers the chance to put their talents to the test.
